Senior Aseptic Design Engineer — Fill & Finish | EU Annex 1 Remediation | Isolators · RABS · VHP | Mission 24m | Berne

Recrutis is supporting a leading international biopharma client in the search for a Senior Aseptic Design Engineer dedicated to an ongoing EU Annex 1 remediation programme covering three sterile filling lines under upgrade.

The role owns the aseptic design deliverables — concept through implementation — across isolators, RABS, VHP decontamination and point-of-fill filtration. This is a hands-on senior technical role.

Key information :

 Location : Canton of Bern, Switzerland — primarily on-site (limited remote flexibility)

 Seniority : 7-12 years in pharma / biotech aseptic design

 Languages : English required ; German B2 strongly preferred

Scope :

 Lead design and optimisation of aseptic F&F equipment : isolators, RABS, VHP, point-of-fill filtration, sterile transfers

 Contribute to engineering documentation — URS, FS, TS, PFDs, P&IDs, layouts

 Coordinate with OEMs, suppliers and equipment vendors across design, procurement and commissioning

 Participate in FAT, SAT and commissioning ; ensure systems meet design specifications and Annex 1 requirements

 Maintain change control and provide design support through start-up phases

Profile — required criteria (passive filtering) :

 7-12 years of hands-on aseptic F&F design experience in pharma / biotech

 Direct experience with isolators, RABS, VHP, and point-of-fill filtration

 Direct experience with EU Annex 1 remediation or upgrade programme (not general cGMP exposure)

 English working proficiency

Strong assets — presented as differentiators, not strict knockouts :

 URS / FS / TS authorship as primary author (co-authorship and design contribution also considered)

 CQV / QA / Validation cross-functional exposure

 MSAT or sterile Production cross-functional background

 Greenfield or brownfield aseptic line upgrade familiarity

 German B2-C1 (strongly preferred for site interactions)
