A national industry leading leisure / football focused business who promote health, fitness and friendly competition are seeking an Assistant Manager to join their Southend On Sea, Essex club. The position entails working a flexible shift pattern to provide management cover at all times, hours of work are negotiable between 32 and 40 hours per month.

As the Assistant Manager you will:

  • Provide a quality, effective and efficient service to users of the facilities and to assist the General Manager to develop sales and marketing plans to promote and maximise income opportunities.
  • Supervise all employees including Team Members, Cleaners and Maintenance employed by Goals, ensuring the highest standard of service is provided to all customers and guests at the facility.
  • Contribute to the development of business development plan to develop all aspects of the business with specific focus on driving football income.
  • Ensure the Company Health & Safety policy is fully implemented and that all staff training is maintained and completed.
  • Ensure that all facilities, fixtures and fittings within the Club are maintained to a high standard internally and externally.
  • Ensure all cash and stock reconciliation procedures within the facility are followed as dictated by Company policy.
  • Co-ordinate the ordering of stock/goods and services as required to ensure the club operates smoothly and effectively.

We are looking for an Assistant Manager with the following:

  • Proven supervisory level experience, or a graduate with a leisure / hospitality focus.
  • Past hospitality/leisure sector work experience is preferred, but not essential.
  • Genuine interest in sport/leisure/football.
  • Confident front-of-house personality.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written & spoken).
  • IT/Computer literate.
