A rapidly expanding construction and fit-out company is seeking a skilled Estimator to join their busy team in Newcastle-under-Lyme. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to play a key role in estimating a varied range of projects, including schools, leisure centres, commercial fit-outs and more.

The Estimator will be responsible for producing accurate project estimates, carrying out site measurements and preparing detailed schedules of works. They will work closely with clients, visiting sites regularly to understand project requirements and ensure competitive and accurate quotations are prepared.

Key departmental responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Producing accurate and competitive estimates for construction and fit-out projects.
  • Visiting client sites to measure works and assess project requirements.
  • Preparing detailed schedules of works based on site measurements and project requirements.
  • Calculating project costs accurately using Microsoft Excel.
  • Reviewing project requirements to ensure all necessary works and materials are included within estimates.
  • Preparing and submitting detailed customer quotations.
  • Liaising directly with clients and attending site visits to discuss project requirements.
  • Managing multiple estimating requirements and ensuring quotations are completed within agreed timescales.
  • Working across a varied portfolio of projects, including schools, leisure centres, commercial fit-outs and other construction projects.
  • Supporting the wider team with estimating and pricing as the business continues to grow.

The Estimator will have the following skills and experience:

  • Proven experience as an Estimator within the construction or fit-out industry is essential.
  • Solid estimating experience with the ability to produce accurate project costs.
  • Confidence carrying out site measurements and assessing works required.
  • Ability to produce detailed schedules of works independently.
  • IT proficient with good Excel skills.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with clients face-to-face.
  • Organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence – regular travel to client sites is required.

This is a full-time, permanent role working Monday to Friday from the office in Newcastle and various client sites as required.

The role offers an attractive benefits package including pay up to £50,000 per year, depending on experience, use of company car, excellent career progression, and more.
