Aspiring Financial Planner
Job Description:
Aspiring Financial Planner
Spectrum Wealth | Glasgow
Full-time | Permanent | Office-based
Salary up to £50,000
Spectrum Wealth is looking for an Aspiring Financial Planner who is ready to step into a business where everything is already in place — clients, systems, support, mentoring, and a clear, planned career path.
If you're DipPFS Level 4 qualified, have a minimum of two years' financial services experience — essentially in a client-facing role — and are ambitious about becoming an exceptional Financial Planner, this role has been designed for you.
We're not looking for someone to sit in the background for years and wait their turn.
We're looking for a rising star — someone who wants responsibility, visibility, and a future.
About Spectrum Wealth
Spectrum Wealth is a modern, client-first financial planning firm based in Glasgow. We're proud to be the only top-rated financial planning firm in the city on VouchedFor, known for ethical advice, long-term relationships, and genuinely caring about client outcomes.
This is a business built properly:
- strong processes
- high-quality clients
- experienced planners who want to develop others
- and a culture that invests in people, not just numbers
The opportunity
This is a genuine development role into a fully-fledged Financial Planner — not a holding position.
From day one, you'll be supported, mentored, and gradually introduced to your own client bank, with a clear and structured journey toward becoming a trusted adviser in your own right.
We'll teach you the parts you haven't done yet.
What we can't teach is ambition, integrity, and the desire to be excellent.
What you'll be doing
Learning & Client Exposure
- Attending client meetings with experienced Financial Planners.
- Building relationships with clients and understanding their goals.
- Taking on responsibility for client communication and follow-ups.
- Gradually transitioning into managing your own client relationships.
Financial Planning (with support and training)
- Helping build holistic financial plans covering pensions, investments, protection, estate planning and more.
- Using cashflow modelling and financial planning software.
- Contributing to recommendations that genuinely improve clients' lives.
- Keeping up to date with regulation and best practice.
Career Progression
- Working within a clearly defined development plan.
- Receiving ongoing mentoring and support.
- Being given responsibility as your confidence and capability grow.
- Progressing toward full adviser authorisation with the backing of the business.
What we're looking for
The only non-negotiable is:
- DipPFS Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning and a minimum of two years in financial services, ideally within a client-facing role.
This role could suit:
- A client-facing paraplanner ready to progress into Financial Planning
- A trainee adviser looking for structured development and greater client responsibility
- Someone Level 4 qualified whose experience shows a clear desire to become a Financial Planner
You'll thrive here if you are:
- Ambitious and genuinely serious about becoming a top-quality Financial Planner.
- Client-focused and values-led — not sales-driven.
- Curious, thoughtful, and keen to keep learning.
- Confident building relationships and communicating directly with clients.
- Looking for a long-term home, not a short-term move.
What's in it for you
- Salary up to £50,000, depending on experience and readiness.
- A passed-over client bank — not starting from zero.
- A structured, realistic, and well-supported career path.
- Full support with development, training, and progression.
- Bonus and benefits package.
- A professional, supportive, and genuinely nice team.
- A business that wants to grow the next generation of advisers.
