HGV MHGV Mechanic Required – Newry Area
An established transport company is currently recruiting an experienced HGV Mechanic to join a busy workshop team based in Newry.
The company operates a modern fleet of predominantly Volvo and Scania tractor units alongside Fruehauf bulk tipper trailers.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Servicing, maintenance and repair of HGVs and trailers
- Preparing vehicles for MOT/DOE inspections
- Diagnosing mechanical faults
- Carrying out inspections in line with company procedures
- Attending breakdowns when required
- Ensuring all vehicles and trailers remain compliant and roadworthy
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
Working Pattern
Monday to Saturday
Saturday morning work required due to operational demands
Requirements
Previous HGV mechanic experience preferred
Experience with trailers advantageous
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
HGV CE licence preferred but not essential
