(Senior) Business Controller

Our client is UNS, an internationally operating architecture firm with their HQ in the city centre of Amsterdam and more than 450 employees across seven global offices. To support their continued growth, we are looking for a (Senior) Business Controller.

In this role, you play a key position in strengthening and further professionalizing the business control structure within a dynamic and ongoing growing organization.

What will you do?

This is an organization that never stands still. Systems, processes and reports are continuously being improved, always with an eye on the bigger picture. You get energy from being a trusted advisor to the entities and studios within the group.

As a (Senior) Business Controller, you are right in the middle of these developments. Your work is directly visible to key internal stakeholders: from Studio and Entity Directors to the MD and CFO.

As part of the Control Team (4 FTE) within a broader Finance Team (10 FTE), you report to the Business Control Manager and play a key role in the strategic transformation of UNS.

You oversee multiple projects and P&Ls across various studios and entities, serving as the primary financial point of contact from project initiation through to completion. You keep a close eye on progress, flag risks and opportunities early, and make sure performance stays on track.

Most importantly, you go beyond the number: translating data into clear, actionable insights that help stakeholders make informed decisions.

You are an independent, analytical Business Controller with a talent for turning financial data into meaningful business insights. As a professional you thrive in an environment where processes are still taking shape and take ownership in defining them.

You know how to influence stakeholders and make an impact across all relevant result areas. In addition:

• a Bachelor or Master dregree in Finance, Business Administration or comparable;
• proven experience as a Business Controller (within a project organization is a plus);
• business savvy and innovative mindset;
• strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into concrete actions;
• experience with process improvement, standardization and automation;
• strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams;
• fluent in English, Dutch is a plus.

As the HQ is located in the heart of Amsterdam, where parking is a nightmare and rush hour traffic is a daily reality, the ability to commute to the office by public transport is highly desirable.
