They are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and oversee multiple building projects. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in civil engineering, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to manage complex construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Job Summary:

The Project Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of building construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality and safety standards. The role will lead project planning and execution while coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take overall responsibility for the planning, execution, and delivery of building construction projects.
  • Develop and implement project execution plans, schedules, budgets, and resource requirements.
  • Monitor project progress against agreed time, cost, quality, and performance targets.
  • Manage project budgets, contracts, procurement, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Coordinate and maintain effective relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Lead project teams and coordinate site activities to ensure efficient execution.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks, issues, delays, and potential cost overruns.
  • Resolve high-level technical, commercial, contractual, and operational issues.
  • Ensure construction activities comply with approved designs, specifications, building regulations, contractual requirements, and quality standards.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review project reports, schedules, variations, progress claims, and other key project documentation.
  • Monitor contractor and subcontractor performance and take corrective action where required.
  • Provide regular project updates and performance reports to senior management and the client.
  • Drive timely completion, commissioning, handover, and close-out of projects.

Requirements:

  • 10–15 years of experience in project management within the building/construction industry.
  • Proven experience managing building construction projects from inception through completion.
  • Strong knowledge of construction project planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, contracts, and site operations.
  • Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders, including clients, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Strong understanding of construction quality, HSE, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Experience working on projects in Nigeria or other African markets would be an advantage.
  • A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Professional project/construction management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) would be an advantage.
