Position Overview:

The Foreman/Site Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision, coordination, and execution of on-site construction activities. The role ensures that all site works are completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with engineering specifications, project plans, and quality standards.

The selected candidate must have strong technical expertise in civil infrastructure, particularly in road construction, bridges, highways, earthworks, drainage systems, and related civil structures. The Foreman/Supervisor will manage personnel on site, coordinate subcontractors, ensure safety compliance, and provide timely updates and reports to Project Engineers and Site Managers.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Site & Project Supervision (Technical Competence):

  • Oversee daily construction activities including earthworks, road works, concrete works, structural works, and ancillary civil tasks.
  • Ensure all works are executed according to technical drawings, project specifications, and engineering standards.
  • Supervise the installation of infrastructure components such as drainage, pavements, culverts, embankments, retaining structures, and base/asphalt paving.
  • Monitor resource allocation including manpower, machinery, materials, and equipment.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues immediately to avoid site delays.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and project requirements.
  • Ensure proper implementation of surveying and leveling works.

2. Team Leadership & Workforce Coordination:

  • Lead and manage teams of technicians, skilled and unskilled laborers, equipment operators, and subcontractor staff.
  • Assign daily tasks and oversee performance to ensure productivity and adherence to project schedules.
  • Train, mentor, and guide junior team members and new workers on site.
  • Ensure discipline, motivation, and strong work ethics within the site workforce.
  • Resolve conflicts and maintain a collaborative working environment.

3. Site Requirements & Compliance:

  • Enforce strict adherence to Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) policies.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, safety meetings, and enforce use of PPE.
  • Ensure site housekeeping and organization.
  • Coordinate logistics: material deliveries, machinery allocation, and work sequencing.

4. Reporting & Documentation:

  • Prepare and submit daily site reports (DSR) on progress, manpower, equipment usage, material consumption, and challenges.
  • Report anomalies, risks, delays, or deviations from plans.
  • Participate in progress review meetings.
  • Maintain documentation on activities, inspections, and completed tasks.

5. Stakeholder & Communication Management:

  • Coordinate with Project Engineers, Site Managers, QC teams, Safety Officers, and subcontractors.
  • Communicate clearly with team members.
  • Liaise with suppliers, logistics teams, and equipment supervisors.
  • Provide accurate and timely communication to management.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

Mandatory Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience supervising construction activities on infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, highways, or major civil works).
  • Technical understanding of earthworks, road layers, bridge works, drainage, concrete and steel structures.
  • Proven team supervision experience.

Education:

  • Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Technical certifications are an advantage.

Technical Skills:

  • Ability to read engineering drawings.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies.
  • Knowledge of site equipment and machinery.
  • Proficiency in reporting and site documentation.
