About the Job:
The Accounting Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of the company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial processes.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll staff. Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure departmental objectives are met.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Ensure timely and accurate reporting in compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts. Monitor variances and provide analysis to management to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Manage cash flow projections, monitor banking activities, and optimize cash resources. Implement and maintain effective cash management procedures to minimize risk and maximize liquidity.
- Develop and enforce internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Conduct periodic audits and reviews to identify areas for improvement and mitigate risks.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations. Prepare and file various tax returns, including sales tax, payroll tax, and income tax filings.
- Oversee vendor relationships, including negotiating contracts, reviewing vendor invoices, and resolving discrepancies. Maintain accurate records of vendor transactions and payments.
- Conduct financial analysis and performance evaluation of projects, departments, and business units. Identify opportunities for cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and operational efficiency.
- Support special projects and initiatives as assigned by senior management. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as SAP is preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.
