Environmental & Social Manager

As an Environmental & Social Manager, you will be instrumental in driving the environmental and social strategy for a leading renewable energy developer focused on wind, solar, and hybrid power projects across Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa.

In this role, you will manage the environmental and social aspects of renewable energy projects and ensure compliance with global best practices and local regulations, while helping the company achieve its sustainability objectives.

What You will do

• Develop and implement environmental and social management plans for renewable energy projects in line with our clients sustainability goals
• Conduct environmental and social risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure environmental and social compliance throughout project lifecycles
• Lead environmental and social due diligence efforts during the planning and development phases of renewable energy projects
• Engage with local communities, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to ensure transparency and alignment on environmental and social issues
• Monitor project compliance with environmental and social requirements during construction and operational phases
  Provide regular reporting on environmental and social performance to senior management and external stakeholders
• Support the company's commitment to sustainability by promoting biodiversity, minimizing carbon footprints, and enhancing community engagement through impactful initiatives

What You Bring
We understand that impactful leadership takes many forms. You likely bring:

• 7+ years of experience in environmental and social management, preferably in the renewable energy sector
• In-depth knowledge of international environmental and social standards, including IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, and ISO standards
• Solid experience in conducting environmental and social impact assessments, due diligence, and reporting
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English
• Experience engaging with local communities, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to foster collaboration and compliance
• A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• A deep commitment to sustainability, social responsibility, and professional development in the renewable energy industry
