About the job Financial Institution Agent

The Financial Institution Agent is responsible for representing the organization's financial products and services (e.g. banking, insurance, or investment products) to prospective and existing clients. The role focuses on building relationships, driving new business, and ensuring clients receive suitable financial solutions in line with regulatory and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect, acquire, and onboard new individual and/or corporate clients for the institution's financial products (e.g. savings/current accounts, loans, insurance policies, investment products)
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to drive retention, cross-selling, and referrals
  • Conduct needs analysis and financial consultations to recommend suitable products
  • Achieve monthly/quarterly sales targets and KPIs as set by management
  • Ensure all client interactions and product recommendations comply with relevant regulatory requirements (e.g. MAS guidelines, AML/KYC procedures)
  • Prepare and submit accurate documentation for account opening, loan applications, or policy issuance
  • Stay updated on the institution's product offerings, market trends, and competitor activity
  • Handle client queries, complaints, and after-sales service professionally
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions in CRM systems
  • Collaborate with internal departments (credit, operations, compliance) to ensure smooth service delivery

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Business, Finance, Banking, Economics, or related field
  • Prior experience in sales, banking, insurance, or financial services preferred (fresh graduates may be considered for entry-level roles)
  • Relevant certifications preferred/required (e.g. CMFAS modules, IBF certifications, or local regulatory licensing depending on jurisdiction)

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Sales-driven with a customer-first mindset
  • Good understanding of financial products and basic financial literacy
  • Ability to work independently and meet targets under pressure
  • Proficient in MS Office and CRM tools
  • High level of integrity and professionalism, given handling of sensitive financial data
