Job Description: Mechanical Fitter

Location: Wangara, Perth

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter with a strong background in heavy machinery. Experience with drill rigs is highly preferred, but a solid understanding of hydraulics, fault finding, and heavy machinery maintenance is essential. Candidates with workshop management experience and proficiency in computer literacy will have an added advantage. This role requires flexibility, as the candidate must be willing to work on a FIFO (Fly-In, Fly-Out) basis as needed as well as time in the Wangara workshop.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on heavy machinery, including drill rigs and other equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hydraulic system issues efficiently.
• Conduct fault finding and corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Oversee workshop operations, including planning and resource management.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, repairs, and inventory using computer systems.
• Adhere to FIFO schedules and travel requirements as dictated by project needs.
• Ensure all work adheres to safety protocols and standards.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter, preferably with drill rigs.
• In-depth knowledge of heavy machinery maintenance and repair.
• Strong expertise in hydraulic systems and fault diagnosis.
• Demonstrated workshop management experience.
• Computer literacy, including proficiency in maintenance software or related tools.
• Willingness to work on a FIFO basis as required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Commitment to safety and quality in all aspects of work.
