About the Role:

RecruitUp is seeking a skilled and experienced Sheep Farmer on behalf of our client in Princetown, Victoria a stunning location along the Great Ocean Road. This role involves overseeing all aspects of sheep farming operations, including livestock care, pasture management, and farm maintenance. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in sheep husbandry, breeding, and general farm operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily sheep care, including feeding, health monitoring, and disease prevention
• Plan and oversee breeding programs, lambing, and weaning cycles
• Maintain and repair farm infrastructure, including fencing, watering systems, and shearing sheds
• Monitor pasture conditions and implement rotational grazing practices
• Ensure compliance with animal welfare and biosecurity regulations
• Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
• Oversee shearing operations and wool production
• Maintain accurate records of livestock numbers, breeding cycles, and health treatments

Requirements:

• Experience in sheep farming, livestock management, or agricultural operations
• Strong knowledge of sheep husbandry, breeding, and disease prevention
• Ability to operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
• Understanding of pasture management and rotational grazing
• Knowledge of animal welfare and biosecurity regulations
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
• Valid Drivers License (Truck or Tractor License is an advantage)
