Role Overview
Successful candidates will be placed directly with our client employers and will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of commercial dairy farming activities. Roles are hands-on and operational in nature and require applicants to demonstrate practical, independent capability in dairy production environments.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage daily dairy farming operations, including milking routines and livestock handling
- Monitor, feed, and care for dairy cattle to maintain animal health, welfare, and productivity
- Operate and maintain milking equipment and farm machinery
- Implement herd health programs, including disease prevention and treatment under veterinary guidance
- Monitor milk quality and production outputs
- Manage pasture, fodder, and feed systems in line with seasonal conditions
- Assist with breeding programs, calving, and young stock management
- Maintain farm records, production data, and compliance documentation
- Ensure all farming activities comply with Australian biosecurity, animal welfare, and food safety standards
- Adhere to Work Health and Safety (WHS) requirements and safe farm practices
Mandatory Skills and Experience
- Minimum 3 years of full-time, relevant work experience in commercial dairy farming
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with dairy cattle, milking systems, and herd management
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for daily farm operations
- Practical understanding of animal welfare, biosecurity, and farm safety standards
- Verifiable employment history in dairy farming or a closely related agricultural role
Qualifications & Licensing
- Formal agricultural qualification in dairy farming, agriculture, or animal production (advantageous but not essential if experience is strong)
- Ability to operate farm machinery and equipment safely
- Willingness to obtain any required state-based licences or certifications
