About the Role

Our client is a proudly local, family-owned Alice Springs business specialising in the design and manufacture of steel trays, aluminium canopies, general metalwork, and commercial fabrication. Their trade-quality products are built tough to withstand the harsh conditions of the Central Australian desert.
They are expanding their team and are seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator who takes pride in high-quality workmanship and enjoys producing custom solutions for a wide range of clients.

About the Role

• Fabricating steel and aluminium trays, canopies, and custom metal components
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings
• MIG/TIG welding and general metal fabrication
• Working on one-off custom builds, fleet upgrades, and commercial fabrication projects
• Maintaining a safe, clean and efficient workshop environment

Qualifications

• Relevant trade certification or equivalent experience
• Welding certifications (MIG/TIG) desirable

Experience

• Demonstrated experience in metal fabrication, welding, and general workshop tasks
• Experience working with steel, aluminium, and custom builds
• Previous work in automotive, commercial, or general fabrication environments highly regarded

Skills

• Strong MIG/TIG welding ability
• Competent in metal cutting, shaping, and assembly
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and time management

ANNUAL SALARY: $76K TO $82K
