Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Sonography Supervisor to oversee the Ultrasound Department at UVM Medical Center. This role ensures daily operations, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance while also performing clinical procedures. The Supervisor will work closely with the Radiology Manager to support budget planning, long-term strategy, and departmental growth in a Level I Trauma Center.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily operations of the Ultrasound Department at UVM Medical Center & Fanny Allen Campus.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory mandates (ACR accreditation, quality control, and patient safety standards).
  • Schedule and supervise staff, ensuring appropriate coverage and workflow efficiency.
  • Perform diagnostic and breast ultrasound procedures, maintaining clinical excellence.
  • Support sonographers' professional development, providing mentorship and clinical instruction.
  • Assist with budgetary planning and long-term strategy for the department.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicists, and educators to enhance imaging quality and technology.
  • Provide off-hours phone support as needed for departmental operations.

Required Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited Radiography program (Bachelors Degree Preferred).
ARDMS Certification in Sonography.
5+ years of progressive experience in Sonography, including breast ultrasound experience.
Experience with ACR accreditation and regulatory compliance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a unionized healthcare environment.
Project and budget planning experience.
Previous leadership or lead sonographer experience.
