Job Summary:
We are seeking a Lead Field Service Engineer to provide technical support, troubleshooting, maintenance, and installation services for industrial packaging machinery. This role requires a hands-on approach, responding to customer inquiries and traveling to client locations (50-60% of the time) to perform on-site service and repairs. The ideal candidate will build strong customer relationships and have the opportunity to earn 1% commission on recommended and installed parts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, fine-tune, and program packaging machinery, including VFFS & HFFS Baggers, Scales, Check-Weighing Systems, Metal Detection, X-Ray Detection, Print & Conveyor Systems.
- Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (F.A.T.) to ensure machines meet operational standards.
- Respond promptly to customer service calls and maintenance requests.
- Perform maintenance repairs, system overhauls, and troubleshooting on existing equipment.
- Accurately log customer calls, service activities, and expenses related to service work.
- Process invoices and service documentation efficiently.
- Recommend additional services or parts to customers, with an opportunity to earn commission.
Travel Information:
- 50-60% travel to customer sites for on-site service.
- $50 per diem in cash for personal use during travel.
- Flights typically depart from South Bend for easy access.

- Dedicated travel assistant available to manage bookings and make adjustments.
- Emphasis on minimizing weekend travel to support work-life balance.
