Footwear Designer

As a Footwear Designer, you will be responsible for conceptualizing and creating designs for various types of footwear, including athletic shoes, casual shoes, and boots. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, sourcing, and marketing, to ensure the seamless execution of design concepts. Additionally, you will conduct market research, attend trade shows, and keep up-to-date with industry trends to continuously innovate and develop new footwear designs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct market research and analyze footwear trends
• Create design concepts for various types of footwear
• Develop detailed technical sketches and specifications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design concepts are executed properly
• Select appropriate materials, colors, and components for each design
• Create and maintain design sketches, mood boards, and design archives for reference
• Participate in fittings and provide feedback for footwear improvements
• Work closely with the production team to ensure designs are accurately manufactured
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and manufacturing processes

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Footwear Design, Fashion Design, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Footwear Designer
• Strong portfolio demonstrating creativity and design skills in footwear
• Excellent knowledge of footwear trends, materials, and construction techniques
• Proficiency in design software and tools
• Ability to create detailed technical sketches and specifications
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
