The Asian Fusion Sous Chef is the second-in-command in the kitchen, responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in the overall operation of the kitchen. The Sous Chef will help in menu development, supervising kitchen staff, managing food preparation, and ensuring the consistency and quality of Asian fusion dishes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Executive Chef in planning and executing the restaurants Asian fusion menu.
  • Oversee kitchen operations in the Executive Chefs absence, ensuring quality and timeliness of food service.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, providing training and ensuring adherence to kitchen protocols.
  • Ensure that food preparation meets the restaurants standards for quality and presentation.
  • Monitor food costs and help maintain budgetary control.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef on new dish ideas and menu updates.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef, with a focus on Asian Fusion cuisine.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate kitchen staff.
  • Excellent knowledge of various Asian cuisines and fusion techniques.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and deliver quality results.
  • Culinary degree or relevant certifications preferred.
