The Role

As Senior Design Engineer, youll lead the technical design of ground improvement and foundation solutions from feasibility through detailed design and construction support. Working closely with project and construction teams, youll ensure each design is safe, efficient, and buildable.
You will take ownership of modelling, design documentation, and client liaison while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to value engineering for tenders and live projects.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver design packages for ground improvement and foundation systems (e.g. rigid inclusions, stone columns, vacuum consolidation, dynamic compaction)
  • Perform advanced geotechnical analyses, modelling, and reporting to support D&C projects.
  • Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to optimise constructability and cost efficiency. 
  • Review and verify calculations, drawings, and documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide design support during construction, addressing technical queries and design changes.
  • Contribute to tenders and proposals through design input and technical presentations.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering quality, safety, and collaboration within the team.


    Requirements

    • Bachelors degree in Civil |Geotechnical Engineering highly regarded
    • Min. 5+ years' experience in geotechnical or foundation design for large infrastructure projects.
    • Strong technical proficiency in analysis and modelling tools such as PLAXIS or similar.
    • Experience with D&C delivery and interface between design and construction.
    • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
    • Passion for innovation and practical, buildable design outcomes.
