Role
As a Senior Design Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing innovative ground improvement solutions across various geotechnical engineering projects. You will lead the development of cost-effective, sustainable designs while ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications. This role also involves mentoring and guiding junior engineers, helping them understand complex geotechnical concepts and design methodologies. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering high-quality designs under tight deadlines and a commitment to safety and quality management practices.
Responsibilities
- Analyze geotechnical investigation data (including in-situ and laboratory test results) to develop a comprehensive understanding of ground conditions at project sites and derive relevant geotechnical parameters.
- Lead the development of preliminary, conceptual, and detailed designs for ground improvement solutions, ensuring timely delivery and technical accuracy.
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients to develop project-specific solutions, prepare design reports, and provide on-site support to ensure that construction aligns with the design requirements.
- Conduct complex numerical analyses for ground improvement, reinforcement, foundations, and retaining walls during tender, design, and construction stages.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and site engineers in interpreting design models and understanding geotechnical engineering principles.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; a Masters degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred.
- 6-8 years of civil engineering design experience, with a strong focus on geotechnical and soil mechanics.
- Proven experience managing preliminary, conceptual, and detailed designs, and delivering within tight deadlines.
- Advanced knowledge of geotechnical ground improvement techniques, including but not limited to CMC, Jet Grouting, Anchoring, Stone Columns, Vibro Compaction, Deep Soil Mixing, Slurry Walls, Dynamic Compaction, and Grouting.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software such as PLAXIS and SLOPE-W; advanced to expert-level skills in Visual Basic and Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in French is highly advantageous due to interactions with the international design team.
