About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Civil Engineer with 2-5 years of experience to join a dynamic team working on a first-of-its-kind geotechnical project in PNG. The role focuses on supporting project execution, ensuring quality, and contributing to the successful delivery of innovative engineering solutions in a geothermally active environment.

Responsibilities

    • Direct daily site operations, ensuring adherence to project schedules, quality benchmarks, and safety protocols.
    • Supervise the installation of structural elements, such as waler beams and wall stabilizers, ensuring compliance with design specifications.
    • Monitor the deployment and functionality of advanced geotechnical instruments, including load cells and thermistors.
    • Inspect materials and processes to ensure compliance with QA/QC requirements and Australian standards.
    • Review engineering shop drawings for accuracy and alignment with project specifications.
    • Enforce stringent WHS protocols to address site-specific risks and maintain a safe working environment.
    • Track and manage technical submittals, including IRs, TQs, MIRs, WMS, and ITPs, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
    • Maintain accurate site records, as-built drawings, and daily progress reports.
    • Record and upload material QA documentation in compliance with project and client standards.
    • Track and log ITPs/ITCs for all site activities, providing updates to relevant stakeholders as work progresses.

About You

  • A degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • Min 3-5 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably in geotechnical, mining, or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, including structural analysis, earthworks, and construction methods.
  • Proficient in using engineering software and tools for design and analysis.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse disciplines.
  • Eagerness to work in a remote and dynamic environment, adapting to challenges as they arise.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality and safety.
