Animal Caretaker

READ CAREFULLY:

We are an operational farm. We have numerous animals of varying type from chickens, goats, sheep, ponies, tortoises, emus, cows, pigs, and varying birds. This position is responsible for:

• feeding
• cleaning stalls
• mucking
• socializing
• training
• protecting

and providing any other services necessary to ensure the health and welfare of the animals.

DO NOT APPLY IF THE EXTENT OF YOUR EXPERIENCE IS A LOVE OF ANIMALS AND A PET DOG, CAT, OR GERBIL. YOU MUST HAVE PRIOR BARN / FARM EXPERIENCE.

We have two positions available. One is 40 hours 4 days a week, from 8am to 6pm. Shifts are typically Sunday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Saturday. The other is a part-time role at two days, 20 hours per week. Pay will be based on skill and experience and could range from $13. to $16 per hour. Do not apply if you require more that that pay range. Advancement is available after probationary period.

You must be detailed oriented and committed as the animals will rely on you. If you often miss work, DO NOT APPLY. This position requires and highly reliable individual. You will often close the farm and must ensure gates are locked and guardian dogs are released. You also must have the necessary skills or ability to learn how to mow, weed eat, fix fences, and assist with other tasks around the farm.
