RCS is seeking a Cloud Platform Administrator SME to serve as an embedded Administrator and Subject Matter Expert (SME) in direct support of our client's mission and environment.
This position requires the candidate to meet specific Security Clearance obligations to work remote in the Washington DC area.
What you will do:
- Work in an enterprise-wide cloud management, financial governance, and cloud spend oversight across Government cloud environments.
- Utilize a proprietary platform as its primary tool for cloud financial management, compliance automation, account management, and spend visibility.
- Assist in expanding the footprint and mature cloud governance operations.
- Be a dedicated team member to support day-to-day platform administration, advanced configuration, and mission enablement activities.
Platform Administration & Configuration
- Day-to-day administration of the platform
- Organizational Unit (OU) hierarchy creation, modification, and management
- Project creation, configuration, and lifecycle management
- User and user group provisioning, role management, and access control
- Funding source and budget creation, configuration, and management
- Cloud access role (CAR) creation and ongoing management across AWS accounts
- Permission scheme configuration and enforcement
Cloud Account & Environment Management
- AWS account onboarding, configuration, and management
- Support for AWS GovCloud (US) and Commercial Cloud Service (C2S) environments
- Cloud rule and Service Control Policy (SCP) creation, management, and deployment
- Cross-account configuration support, including S3 policies and resource access patterns
- Integration and management of multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP as applicable)
Cloud Financial Management & Reporting
- Cloud spend monitoring, analysis, and reporting within the client environment
- Budget threshold configuration, alerting, and enforcement
- Funding source management and spend plan oversight
- Monthly and ad hoc spend reports for the Customer leadership and stakeholders
- Analysis of spend anomalies and cost optimization recommendations
- Support for financial audit preparation and reporting requirements
Compliance & Governance
- Compliance check creation, management, and monitoring
- Compliance standard configuration and enforcement aligned to Government/DoD policies
- Compliance findings triage, reporting, and remediation tracking
- Cloud Custodian policy integration and configuration support
- Support for DISA STIGs, FedRAMP, and DoD IL requirements as applicable
- Infrastructure-as-Code & Automation
- Terraform Provider configuration, management, and troubleshooting
- CloudFormation template support and compatibility resolution (including C2S environments)
- Automation scripting and workflow development to reduce manual overhead
- CI/CD pipeline integration support for related infrastructure
Operational Support & Stakeholder Enablement
- Execution of the Customer-directed configuration changes and platform tasks
- Platform health monitoring and proactive issue identification
- Coordination with engineering and product teams on escalated issues
- Internal knowledge transfer and documentation for the Customer staff
- Participation in the Customer team meetings, status calls, and leadership briefings as required
- Support for Phase 2 expansion activities and new capability onboarding
Required Qualifications/Education:
- Clearance: Active Secret clearance, TS/SCI preferred
- U.S. Citizenship required (NO EXCEPTIONS)
- Demonstrated expertise in cloud platform administration
- Hands-on experience with AWS, including GovCloud (US) environments
- Familiarity with DoD and Government cloud compliance frameworks
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools including Terraform and CloudFormation
- Strong communication skills and ability to operate effectively in a government customer environment
Nice to Have Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent experience accepted Direct experience with the platform (or comparable cloud management platforms such as Apptio Cloudability, CloudCheckr, or similar)
- Familiarity with DoD compliance frameworks: DISA STIGs, FedRAMP, DoD IL2/IL4/IL5, and Army SAAR processes
- Experience with Cloud Custodian policy engine or similar policy-as-code frameworks
- Experience supporting a Program Management Office (PMO) or government contracting officer technical representative (COTR) environment
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Cloud Practitioner, or equivalent cloud certification
- FinOps Certified Practitioner (FinOps Foundation) or equivalent cloud financial management certification
