Senior Accountant
Job Description:
Responsibilities
- Lead the comprehensive restructuring of the finance function, establishing robust accounting frameworks, controls, and processes from the ground
- Manage and optimise day-to-day financial operations, transitioning from legacy or manual methods to standardised, corporate-grade accounting practices.
- Design, implement, and enforce financial policies, procedures, and systems to improve efficiency, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee all company accounts, ensuring the accurate, timely, and transparent reporting of financial information.
- Prepare, review, analyse, and present financial statements, management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and ad hoc reports with a high degree of accuracy and strategic insight.
- Own the end-to-end budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and long-term strategic plans.
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are consistently met and reporting standards upheld.
- Provide actionable financial insights and strategic guidance to senior management to support informed decision-making and business performance.
- Build, supervise, mentor, and scale the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, high performance, and continuous development.
- Act as the primary liaison with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies, ensuring full compliance with all statutory and reporting requirements.
- Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of accounting software and financial systems, tailoring solutions to support a dynamic and evolving corporate structure.
- Contribute actively to strategic financial planning and executive-level decision-making as a trusted business partner.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years progressive accounting experience, including demonstrated success in leading teams and implementing or overhauling financial systems and processes.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, compliance requirements, and budget management.
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Proven leadership capability, with the ability to mentor and develop teams, combined with effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- High proficiency in modern accounting software and financial technology tools.
- Resilient, adaptable, and able to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced, complex, and high-growth environment.
