Wine Sales Specialist HORECA

R77 Global is partnering with a distinguished, award-winning winery in Malta to recruit a passionate and commercially driven Wine Sales Specialist dedicated to the HORECA sector. This role is ideal for someone who lives and breathes wine, enjoys strengthening client relationships, and thrives in a dynamic, customer-facing environment.
The successful candidate will act as a brand ambassadorguiding clients through wine selections, educating them on portfolios and trends, and elevating the wine experience across hotels, restaurants, and premium venues.
Role Overview
The Wine Sales Specialist will play a key role in enhancing the customer experience across HORECA outlets by offering expert recommendations, building long-term relationships, and driving sales performance. Working closely with outlet managers and beverage teams, you will support menu curation, showcase the winerys diverse portfolio, and ensure brand excellence is consistently delivered.
This is a customer-centric, relationship-driven role where passion for wine and the ability to educate, influence, and engage stakeholders are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement & Sales

Provide friendly, knowledgeable, and personalized wine recommendations tailored to outlet styles, menus, and budgets.

Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing HORECA clients, fostering trust and long-term loyalty.

Educate stakeholders on wine categories including DOK, IGT, Wines of Malta, varietals, vintages, and emerging trends.

Actively upsell and cross-sell premium labels and complementary products.

Achieve sales targets by promoting core, seasonal, and featured wines.
Merchandising & Brand Presentation

Maintain visually appealing, well-organised wine displays that align with brand quality standards across dining rooms and restaurant areas.

Support seasonal resets, promotional features, and themed displays to boost customer interest.
Product Knowledge & Training

Stay updated on industry trends, wine regions, grape varietals, and evolving consumer preferences.

Participate in internal tastings, product training, and winery visits to deepen product knowledge.

Share insights with internal teams to uplift overall product expertise.
Events & Operational Support

Assist in the setup and delivery of the winerys well-known wine festivals and events across Malta and Gozo.

Provide customer support and brand representation during wine events and promotional activities.

Relay market feedback and client insights to leadership for continued product and service improvement.
Qualifications & Experience

WSET Level 3 (or equivalent) is an advantage but not essential.

Strong passion for wine with the ability to educate and inspire clients.

Experience in wine sales, hospitality, HORECA, or customer-facing roles preferred.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and listening skills.

Confident engaging with all levels of HORECA stakeholdersF&B teams, head waiters, restaurant managers, GMs.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Strong understanding of wine varietals, pairings, regions, and service principles.

Availability Monday to Friday 10:00- 19:00
Must have a driving license
