Business Development Manager

 Job Description:

Role Purpose

As Business Development Manager, you will own the full business development cycle—identifying opportunities, building relationships, and converting leads into revenue. Youll help shape go-to-market activity, strengthen partnerships, and contribute directly to the companys growth strategy through strong commercial execution and market insight.

Key Responsibilities

New Business & Revenue Growth

  • Identify, qualify, and convert new business opportunities to meet and exceed revenue targets.
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline, maintaining accurate forecasting and reporting.
  • Develop tailored sales strategies and proposals aligned to client needs and commercial goals.

Client & Partner Relationship Management

  • Build trusted relationships with decision-makers, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Manage ongoing client relationships to drive retention, renewals, and upsell opportunities.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through proactive communication and delivery alignment.

Market Intelligence & Strategic Input

  • Conduct market research to track competitor activity, customer needs, and industry trends.
  • Translate insights into actionable recommendations to improve positioning, offers, and outreach.
  • Stay current on best practices and contribute ideas that support innovation and scalable growth.

Commercial Negotiation & Deal Execution

  • Lead negotiations and support contract closing, ensuring commercial viability and strong value exchange.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (Product/Operations/Marketing/Finance/Legal) to ensure smooth onboarding and delivery readiness.

Presentations, Events & Representation

  • Prepare and deliver high-impact presentations to prospective clients and partners.
  • Represent the business at client meetings, expos, and industry events to generate leads and strengthen brand presence.
  • Travel as required for meetings and events.

What Success Looks Like (KPIs)

  • Consistent pipeline creation and progression (volume + quality).
  • Revenue growth against target (new + existing business).
  • Strong conversion rates through the funnel (lead opportunity close).
  • High client retention and measurable account growth.
  • Clear forecasting, CRM hygiene, and professional stakeholder management.

Candidate Profile

Experience

  • Proven track record in business development, sales, or partnerships (B2B preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to source leads, build pipelines, and close deals.
  • Experience presenting to senior stakeholders and negotiating commercial terms.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Confident communicator—able to build trust quickly and articulate value clearly.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret trends and convert insight into action.
  • Organised, self-driven, and comfortable working independently with accountability for outcomes.
  • Strong collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.

Tools

  • Comfortable using CRM systems and reporting tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive or similar).
  • Strong PowerPoint/Google Slides skills for client-facing decks and proposals.

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events.
  • Full professional fluency in English (additional languages are an advantage).
