Costing Analyst
About the job Costing Analyst
Key Responsibilities:
- Study and understand company's manufacturing workflow and methodology for measuring machinery effectiveness, costing, variance analysis and inventory valuation.
- Monitor daily production levels and ensure reasonability.
- Review completed production - Ensure production costs are properly captured and analyze any variances.
- Investigate any cost variances that are above acceptable threshold - Identify and record measurable corrective courses of action with production manager or plant manager.
- Benchmark and track plant and machine performance levels based on yearly targets.
- Participate in production meetings and report on weekly plant performance.
- Understand financial impact of production reports and persuade internal stakeholders on performance improvement initiatives to drive impactful change.
- Ensure full adherence to company's accounting policies, processes, procedures, and authorization levels.
- Manage and execute ad-hoc compliance projects identified.
- Involved in the development and implementation of continuous improvement for costing and analysis processes.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting & Finance or related field.
- Approximately 2-3 years of costing experience under a manufacturing plant environment.
- Prior experience in managing bill of material (BOM).
- Familiar with the concept of standard costing and actual costing.
- Passionate in continuously improving costing methodologies.
- Strong analytical skills and excellent communication skills.
