About the job Attorney - Employee Benefits
SUMMARY:
Were seeking experienced attorneys with at least 10 years working in employee benefits & executive compensation focusing on benefits plan design, modification, termination & withdrawal issues, ERISA notice and reporting requirements, COBRA compliance, compensation agreements, and related Internal Revenue Code issues to join a mid-size law firm with offices in multiple states.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- In-depth knowledge of ERISA and experience advising on benefit structures, tax qualification, fiduciary responsibilities, and plan funding
- In-depth knowledge of employee benefits law, including plan governance and fiduciary duties
- Will have experience in drafting, reviewing, and amending executive compensation agreements
- Excellent research, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Communicate complex legal matters in a clear and actionable manner, both in writing and oral presentations
- Strong client relations and presentation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple & competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
MUST HAVE:
- JD from an ABA accredited law school.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in employee benefits law with a particular focus on ERISA and traditional defined benefit plans.
- Admission to practice law in the jurisdiction New Jersey
NICE TO HAVE:
- Portable book of business is strongly preferred
