SUMMARY:
Our client, is a national law firm with multiple locations across the United States, has an immediate opening for an Energy Associate with 4 to 6 years of experience preferred. They will consider candidates for any of their offices including virtual. This role is ideal for a candidate who thrives at commercial contracting, renewable energy development, and complex infrastructure projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Draft, review, and negotiate project development documents, acquisition agreements, EPC agreements, PPAs/offtake agreements, major equipment supply contracts, long‑term O&M or service agreements. and joint ventures.
- Advise clients on federal &/or state utility regulatory matters, including rate cases, compliance, and environmental permitting.
- Perform legal due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures in energy markets.
- Represent clients before state and federal regulatory commissions and agencies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have 4-6 years of specialized experience in energy, project development, or finance within a law firm or in-house environment.
- JD (Juris Doctor) Degree from an ABA accredited Law School
- Active Bar Membership in Good Standing within the State where Role is Located.
- Strong understanding of energy regulatory frameworks, energy markets, and/or finance structures.
- Must be able to demonstrate exceptional judgment, the ability to effectively handle multiple projects, and the ability to articulate legal strategies & courses of action.
