Job Title: Caching Specialist - Web Application Performance
Job Description:
We are seeking a Caching Specialist to join our team and lead the optimization of dynamic web application performance through advanced caching strategies. In this role, you will work at the intersection of development and infrastructure, leveraging cutting-edge tools and practices to ensure low latency, scalability, and seamless content delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Caching Strategy: Develop and implement effective caching strategies to enhance the performance of dynamic web applications, ensuring efficient content delivery with minimal latency.
- Infrastructure Configuration: Configure caching services such as Apache caching modules, AWS CloudFront, or Akamai, balancing caching efficiency with up-to-date content delivery.
- Performance Optimization: Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to monitor and optimize application performance, identifying opportunities to enhance caching mechanisms.
- Scalability: Design caching solutions that align with high-availability architectures and ensure scalability across multiple AWS Availability Zones.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Diagnose and resolve caching-related issues, optimize cache refresh policies, and support the application lifecycle from development to production.
- Monitoring & Analytics: Utilize monitoring tools to track cache performance, analyze cache hit ratios, and implement data-driven adjustments to improve efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of caching policies (e.g., time-to-live, cache headers) and their impact on web application performance.
- Proficiency in web performance optimization techniques such as content compression, minification, and lazy loading.
- In-depth knowledge of HTTP, TCP/IP, and web protocols as they relate to caching and content delivery.
- Hands-on experience with caching services and tools like AWS CloudFront, Akamai, or Apache modules.
- Familiarity with performance monitoring and analytics tools to evaluate caching efficiency.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working in cloud environments, especially AWS.
- Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines as they pertain to caching deployment.
- Ability to write and analyze caching rules in programming or scripting languages.
