QRS has partnered with one of our clients, a renowned provider of innovative, customized products for the resources sector and a global leader in the wear solutions market. They are looking for Boilermakers to join their Mt Thorley Workshop.

This is a Temp - Perm placement. ( 3 months TEMP)

$50.74ph - 38hrs/week Plus OT

You will work with their close-knit team of skilled services employees, Supervisors and Coordinators that promote a strong safety culture, and are willing to go the extra mile for each other and the Company.

Your duties:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
  • Heavy fabrication - mining equipment, heavy section plate welding/repair work
  • Crack testing and repair on excavator arms
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical problems and defects
  • Fabricate and assemble structural metal products, including frames, scaffolding, and supports.
  • Cut, weld, and braze metal parts using welding and flame-cutting equipment.
  • Repair and maintain mechanical systems, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment.
  • Use hand and power tools to make precision cuts, measurements, and adjustments.

Job requirements:

  • Certificate of Proficiency - Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication
  • Experience with Flux Core welding
  • Standard AS1554 and pass a weld test which is a double V joint on 16mm plate, horizontal and vertical
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery.
  • Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be physically fit and able to work in various environments (e.g. heights, confined spaces).
