Job Overview: The CT Technologist is responsible for performing CT scans to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions. They ensure the production of high-quality images and provide excellent patient care during the imaging process.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Interpret physician orders and execute CT scans accordingly.
 - Explain the CT scan process to patients and answer any questions they may have.
 - Position patients properly to obtain optimal images.
 - Administer contrast dyes intravenously when necessary.
 - Evaluate images for technical quality and ensure accurate diagnoses can be made.
 - Maintain patient records and update medical information in the system.
 - Clean, disinfect, and maintain CT equipment and work area.
 - Manage inventory of supplies and reorder as needed.
 - Adhere to safety protocols and radiation dose standards to ensure patient and staff safety.
 
Qualifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
 - Proficiency in operating CT scanning equipment.
 - Strong understanding of cross-sectional anatomy.
 - Excellent patient care and communication skills.
 - Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
 
Education and Experience:
- Associates degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent.
 - Minimum of one year of experience as a CT Technologist preferred.
 
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and position patients.
 - Capability to stand for extended periods.
 
Work Environment:
- Hospital or clinical setting with exposure to radiation.
 - Must wear protective gear and follow safety guidelines.
