We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Embedded Systems Engineer with business-level Japanese proficiency to drive embedded development projects and collaborate directly with Japanese stakeholders.
This is a high-impact role for a senior professional who can bridge strong technical expertise with leadership in project coordination, stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and reporting.
The successful candidate may be assigned to Japan for 1–3 years or longer as an intra-company transferee, with full relocation support provided in line with company policies.
What You'll Do
- Lead discussions and negotiations with Japanese stakeholders regarding project scope, deliverables, schedules, and related activities.
- Coordinate project requirements and activities between Philippine and Japan-based teams.
- Review technical inputs and outputs to ensure they meet project requirements and quality standards.
- Support the implementation and successful delivery of embedded system solutions.
- Prepare and present clear project updates and reports to Japan-based management.
- Plan and oversee the daily activities of team members assigned to Japan-related projects.
- Monitor project progress, timelines, deliverables, and concerns.
- Provide guidance and support to project team members.
- Help resolve technical, communication, and coordination issues between teams.
- Build strong working relationships in a fast-paced and multicultural environment.
- Perform other related engineering and project coordination responsibilities as required.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- JLPT N2 certification or equivalent business-level Japanese proficiency.
- Approximately 10 years of experience in embedded development.
- Candidates with slightly fewer years of experience may still be considered if they have strong and directly relevant expertise.
- Strong technical background in embedded software or firmware development.
- Experience in project coordination, technical liaison, team leadership, or similar responsibilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively in Japanese through speaking, reading, and writing.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational, planning, coordination, and leadership abilities.
- Ability to work effectively with local and international teams.
- Willingness to be assigned to Japan depending on business requirements.
An Advantage, but Not Required
- Experience with AUTOSAR.
- Knowledge of project management tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
- Previous experience working with Japanese companies or Japan-related projects.
- Experience in automotive embedded system development.
- Familiarity with Japanese working culture and project environments.
Japan Assignment
The successful candidate may be assigned to Japan as an intra-company transferee for a period of one to three years or longer, depending on business requirements.
Relocation support will be provided based on existing company policies.
