Junior Accounts Payable Specialist

About the role

Primarily responsible for the daily processing of accounts payable invoices in an accurate and timely manner for various international offices. The role involves resolving and reconciling invoice discrepancies, coordinating with international accounting team members, requesting creation of new supplier accounts, performing verification calls, and responding to vendor and employee inquiries. You will assist in general accounting functions including fixed assets, accruals and prepayments, maintain files and documentation in accordance with company policy, assist in finance and accounting projects as assigned by local management, and actively participate in the implementation of new Accounts Payable processing tools.

Key responsibilities

• Process accounts payable invoices daily in an accurate and timely manner for various international offices
• Resolve and reconcile invoice discrepancies and coordinate with international accounting team members
• Request creation of new supplier accounts and perform verification calls
• Respond to vendor and employee inquiries
• Assist in general accounting functions including fixed assets, accruals and prepayments
• Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately in accordance with company policy
• Assist in finance and accounting projects as assigned by local management
• Actively participate in the implementation of new Accounts Payable processing tools

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or relevant accounting professional qualifications
• At least 1-3 years of experience in a similar position
• Good analytical skills and ability to pay excellent attention to detail
• Ability to adhere to strict deadlines
• Ability to exercise professional judgment when processing one-off, unusual or complex transactions
• Accurate, diligent and independent working style
• Strong desire to learn and succeed
• Strong inter-personal and English communication skills
• MS-Office knowledge
• Experience in a shared services environment and using ERP systems
