About the job Operational Data Steward
Key Responsibilities include:
Support the data owners/stewards to set common data standards, definitions and quality
requirements
Ensure data is defined, classified and catalogued in the enterprise tools
Collaborate across a range of business data users, process owners, systems owners, and data creators
to help achieve the objectives, while also ensuring adherence to data standards
Coordinate the capture and tracking of data issues, including engaging stakeholders, ad hoc data
profiling and/or regular reporting. May assist with escalations from events, issues or breaches related
to data
Assist with administering data forums, ensuring agendas, data quality dashboards, issues, and any
other relevant material is gathered and or prepared and distributed in a timing manner to members
Identify risks and issues, quantifying the impacts or value where possible
Support the development and maintenance of data as an asset, and the ways to classify and organise
it for fast and efficient discovery and access, including the development of metadata rules to support
data classification and discovery
Ensure accuracy and accessibility of information to users
Data Catalogue and Business Glossary are maintained and updated based on agreed priorities
Greater data community adoption of data knowledge tools (glossary, catalogue etc)
Incremental improvement in data mgmt. standard compliance
Contribute to data quality rule development, monitoring and recommendations
Liaise with other Data Stewards and SMEs with regards to root cause analysis
About You | We are looking for the following experience, knowledge and attributes
5+ years experience in a data role, including data analysis, reporting, analytics and/or business
intelligence
Significant experience in managing data lifecycle processes, or data value chains
Experience in technology, process and/or data projects
Understanding of Data Management maturity models and different data management practices /
disciplines (including data architecture, master data mgmt. DQ, governance, data knowledge
management).
Demonstrated ability to influence and solve complex problems
Strong stakeholder management skills
Proactive and resilient to stakeholder engagement challenges
Agility and adaptability in rapidly changing working environment
Approaches to handle ambiguity and diverse stakeholder needs
SQL
It is desirable that you also have experience in the broader data field including data and solution
architecture and data analytics.
