REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• ANY of the following:
  • Board Eligible
  • Board Certified

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 1+ years of Neurological Surgery experience

OVERVIEW

This long‑term contract role offers neurosurgeons the opportunity to provide comprehensive onsite neurosurgical care to Veterans at a major medical center. The position includes outpatient, inpatient, surgical, and on‑call responsibilities, supported by a full VA medical team. Candidates will join a collaborative environment focused on high‑quality patient care and continuous improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide outpatient neurosurgery consultations and follow‑up care Perform spinal and cranial neurosurgical procedures Manage intraoperative care and conduct postoperative rounding in SICU and inpatient units Complete inpatient neurosurgical consultations, including bedside evaluations Provide patient and family discharge education and follow‑up planning Document care in the VA electronic medical record in a timely manner Participate in morbidity and mortality conferences and quality improvement initiatives Provide 24/7 neurosurgical call coverage, including:

• 15‑minute telephone response
• 60‑minute onsite response when required

SCHEDULE & SHIFT DETAILS

Contract, onsite role Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM clinical and OR coverage Weekend inpatient rounding as needed 24/7 on‑call coverage required

Pay Transparency Compensation varies based on location, experience, and performance. Some sites require disclosure of pay and benefits. This role may also be eligible for bonuses or incentives depending on business needs.

The estimated hourly rate for this position is $384.00/hr
