Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant – Occupational Health (Contract, Evenings) – Maryland

Overview

This contract role offers an excellent opportunity to deliver high‑quality care as a Nurse Practitioner (NP), Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), or Physician Assistant (PA‑C) during evening shifts. You will perform exams, manage treatments, and collaborate with healthcare teams to support patient health. Occupational health experience is highly valued, and this position offers potential for a temp‑to‑perm transition.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct physical exams and preventive health assessments according to clinical guidelines
• Perform procedures such as injections, suturing, wound care, and infection management
• Develop patient care plans, document progress, and ensure continuity of care
• Educate patients on treatment plans, health maintenance, and preventive care
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests to evaluate clinical conditions
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Prescribe or recommend treatments, including medications and therapies
• Refer patients to specialists or physicians when appropriate
• Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date patient health records
• Educate and coach nursing staff on best practices and clinical protocols

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher
• 1+ years of experience in ANY of the following:
  • Occupational Health
  • Occupational Medicine
• Valid DEA registration
• Valid Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS) registration
• Valid AHA ACLS certification
• ANY of the following valid licenses/certifications:
  • Nurse Practitioner (NP) – Maryland (MD)
  • Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) – Maryland (MD)
  • Physician Assistant‑Certified (PA‑C) – Maryland (MD)
• ANY of the following valid certifications:
  • American Red Cross Basic Life Support (ARC BLS)
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS)
  • American Red Cross Advanced Life Support (ARC ALS)
