Short-Term Rental Accountant / Bookkeeper

Job Overview:
We are looking for a highly detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to manage the financial records for our growing Airbnb portfolio of approximately 100 properties. This role is essential in ensuring accurate financial reporting, smooth payment processing, and clear communication with property owners. The ideal candidate has strong problem-solving skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and excellent communication skills to work cross-functionally across departments.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Bookkeeping:

  • Maintain monthly books in QuickBooks, ensuring proper classification for each managed property.
  • Prepare and distribute owner statements, addressing any financial inquiries from owners in a timely manner.
  • Manage payments to third-party vendors, internal staff, and property owners efficiently and accurately.
  • Oversee 1099 and W9 processing for vendors and property owners.
  • Assist in presenting financial reports to internal leadership, providing insights to support strategic decisions.

Operational & Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with internal teams to track day-to-day financial operations and maintain organized records.
  • Structure and optimize Monday.com to improve bookkeeping workflow and infrastructure.
  • Participate in ad-hoc financial projects as needed to support the business.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably within the Airbnb/Short-Term Rental (STR) property management industry.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and experience managing financial records for multiple properties.
  • Highly proficient in English (both written and verbal) to communicate effectively with owners and team members.
  • Exceptional attention to detail to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple financial processes efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA qualification (a plus but not required).
  • Experience using Topkey or Breezeway software for short-term rental management.
