Medical Physicist (Therapeutic)

The Medical Physicist is responsible for ensuring the safe, accurate, and effective delivery of radiation therapy, while supporting clinical operations, quality assurance, and program development.

Responsibilities

• Oversee calibration and quality assurance of radiation therapy equipment
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory guidelines (AAPM, ASTRO, ACR, ACRO)
• Collaborate with Radiation Oncologists to develop and optimize treatment plans
• Support advanced treatment techniques including SBRT, SRS, and HDR
• Monitor imaging systems and ensure proper dose delivery and patient safety
• Conduct performance evaluations of radiation and imaging equipment
• Assist with implementation of new technologies, procedures, and protocols
• Provide clinical consultation, education, and support to staff
• Partner with leadership on strategic planning, safety initiatives, and program development

Requirements

• Master's degree in Medical Physics required
• Board Certified – American Board of Radiology (Therapeutic Physics)
• 5+ years of experience in radiation oncology/medical physics
• Experience with SBRT, SRS, and HDR required
• Experience with Varian equipment (TrueBeam, Aria, Eclipse) strongly preferred
