Our client is a company expanding greatly in the energy market. It is one of the largest methanol producers in the world and works on EPC projects in various parts of the world.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively contribute to industrial safety in plant design by:
    • Conducting fire risk assessments and integrating fire safety features, such as sprinkler systems, emergency exits, and alarms.
    • Reviewing designs for compliance with current codes, and analyzing and developing solutions.
    • Completing basic and detailed engineering design, on-site engineering, commissioning, and start-up.
    • Training plant operators and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Preparing and evaluating tender proposals and conducting technical assessments of suppliers.
  • Staying updated with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Executing detailed design tasks, including:
    • Developing fire protection strategies with both passive and active safety measures.
    • Creating technical specifications, equipment data sheets, and system sizing reports.
    • Designing hydraulic systems, P&IDs, and cause-effect matrices.
    • Producing fire detection and firefighting layout drawings.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial safety plant design.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Industry experience in power, oil & gas, refining, or petrochemical sectors preferred.
  • Proficiency in international fire safety standards (e.g., NFPA, IBC, FM-DS).
  • Experience with hydraulic calculation software and MS Office.
  • Language skills: Proficiency in English; German, Portuguese, or French is beneficial.
  • Soft skills: goal-oriented, collaborative team player.
