Procurement Officer
About the job Procurement Officer
Our client is a company that is expanding greatly in the energy market and is one of the largest methanol producers in the world. They work on EPC projects in various parts of the world.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Procurement Director in achieving objectives set for the Procurement Department.
- Execute procurement activities by project-specific requirements for quality, safety, and environmental standards, including:
- Managing procurement activities related to project execution and bidding.
- Receiving requests and preparing relevant inquiry/purchase documentation.
- Selecting suppliers and defining contractual terms.
- Leading or assisting in negotiation meetings and contract discussions.
- Evaluating commercial bids and making award recommendations.
- Issuing purchase orders and managing related documentation.
- Expediting and monitoring the delivery of purchased items/services.
- Providing logistics support for goods shipment formalities.
- Assisting the Contract Manager with claims related to purchase orders.
- Verifying invoices against purchase orders and facilitating approval.
- Coordinating with cost control for order placement continuation.
- Execute Supplier Qualification processes.
- Support project procurement-related reporting activities.
Experience:
- At least 3-5 years of work experience in purchasing and negotiating procurement packages for construction of industrial plants (preferably in Power, Oil & Gas, Refining, or Petrochemical industries).
Required Qualifications:
- Degree or bachelors degree (preferably in Engineering).
- Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project.
- Language skills: English mandatory, others (German, Portuguese, French) preferable.
- Soft skills: Strong communication, negotiation, proactivity, resilience, target-oriented, and team player mindset.
