Position Summary:
- The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design, engineering, and coordination of bulk material handling systems and fabricated mechanical structures within EPCM projects. The role involves developing technical solutions, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, and supporting the execution of projects such as conveyor systems, crushing stations, fuel storage tanks, and jetty mechanical works.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, review, and optimize bulk material handling systems including conveyors, chutes, hoppers, feeders, stackers, and transfer towers.
- Prepare and review detailed engineering documents such as specifications, datasheets, P&IDs, GA drawings, and fabrication details.
- Provide engineering input for fabrication works including tanks, pressure vessels, structural supports, and piping systems.
- Ensure designs comply with SNI, ASME, API, ISO, CEMA, and international standards.
- Conduct mechanical calculations including load, torque, stress, and material selection for handling equipment.
- Support procurement by preparing technical requisitions, evaluating vendor offers, and reviewing vendor drawings.
- Coordinate with drafting team to produce accurate fabrication drawings and material take-offs (MTOs).
- Work closely with civil, electrical, and structural teams to ensure integrated and constructible designs.
- Provide technical support during workshop fabrication, site installation, and commissioning.
- Participate in design reviews, HAZOP, and quality checks to ensure compliance with safety and operational requirements.
- Support preparation of BoQs, cost estimates, and schedules for mechanical works.
- Mentor junior engineers and ensure knowledge transfer within the mechanical discipline.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering (S1) or equivalent.
- 5-10 years experience in mechanical engineering within EPC/EPCM projects.
- Strong background in bulk material handling systems (belt conveyors, chutes, crushers, feeders, stackers).
- Proven experience in fabrication of tanks, mechanical equipment, and structural assemblies.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD tools. Knowledge of analysis software (SAP2000, ANSYS) is an advantage.
- Familiarity with welding, fabrication processes, and QA/QC requirements.
- Strong knowledge of SNI, ASME, API, CEMA, and other international standards.
- Good communication, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary EPCM environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
