About the job Junior Finance Business Partner
The Jr. Finance Business Partner Shore and Vessels Operations will be assisting the Finance Business Partner Lead to provide strategic business partnering with the assigned BU, to build strong relationships, to lead financial reviews, to understand challenges and opportunities, as well to manage the overheads & capital expenditures in partnership with the BU leaders. The position will focus on the analysis of the Vessels Drydock expenses, weekly cost and operational review & reporting.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Strategic Partnership
Assist in strategic finance business partnering to build strong relationships, leading financial reviews in understanding the challenges and opportunities, as well as manage overheads & capital expenditures in partnership with the BU leaders.
Responsible in implementing & monitoring the business planning cycle including annual operating budgets, quarterly forecast/LE and long-term financial plan to ensure alignment with overall business strategies and financial targets.
Responsible in working hand-in-hand with the BU on implementing policies & procedures, coordinating with other Finance business partners as necessary, implementing best practice in the industry with internal controls in mind, and ensuring the BU/department's compliance to such.
Contribute to ad-hoc projects as needed, and continually automate/streamline processes to improve business efficiency across the organization.
Incorporates health, safety, security, and environmental compliance in the planning and implementation of Finance operations and initiatives.
Reporting & Analysis
Maintain & ensure monitoring of the business unit expenses, with focus on Vessel Drydock expenses, weekly, cost, operational review and reporting.
Analysis of the actual vs targets/budget, root-cause analysis and deep dive on reasons for any delays, and monitoring of actual expenses in Sertica and Netsuite.
Provide assistance & support related to reports for Internal & External reporting, ensuring dashboards are aligned with business strategies & financial targets, creating bridge gap analysis as necessary to ensure achievement of goals.
Other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications:
- At least 1-2 years specialist experience in FP&A, preferably with focus on Function Controllership/ Business partnering within a fast-paced business/industry.
- Experience in Logistics & Services industry is an advantage.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills i.e., analyze data, capture gaps while executing control, identify ways to fix the issue and suggest necessary process improvement to avoid such instances from recurring
- Stakeholder management i.e., engage with senior leaders, manage expectations and ability to speak-up & influence without authority.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with ERP system, preferably with Netsuite
- Demonstrated project management experience and the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Must be able to manage conflict resolution.
- Experience with negotiations.
