General Ledger Analyst
The General Ledger Analyst is responsible for managing and maintaining the companys general ledger, serving as the central repository for all financial transactions. The primary function of this role is to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of financial records in accordance with internal policies and relevant accounting standards.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensures that the companys financial records are accurate, organized, compliant, contributing to informed business decisions and financial stability.
Management and maintenance of General Ledger.
Ensure that all financial transactions are accurately and timely recorded in the financial system and reported to its correct revenue and cost centers.
- Ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions including income, expenses, assets, and liabilitiesin the general ledger by reviewing and reconciling journal entries in accordance with accounting standards.
- Complete all necessary adjustments and journal entries required for each month-end closing process.
- Perform reconciliation of various accounts (e.g., bank accounts, accounts payable), promptly investigating and resolving discrepancies or errors.
- Review and validate accounting transactions and Revenue/Cost Center data from middleware systems
- Provide comprehensive audit support by preparing required documentation, addressing auditor inquiries, and ensuring timely submission of audit deliverables in compliance with audit schedules.
- Collaborate with cross-functional finance teams to ensure cohesive and accurate financial operations.
- Support the implementation of accounting policies and procedures across Finance and relevant business units to ensure compliance and consistency.
- Provide support for additional reports and activities as assigned by the R2R Manager, ensuring timely and accurate completion of ad hoc tasks.
Reports and Accruals
- Maintain and monitor schedules for assigned General Ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Perform regular account clean-up activitiesdaily, weekly, monthly, and annuallyin line with agreed timelines to ensure data integrity.
- Set up and manage accruals for various accounts, including but not limited to revenue, costs, adjusting entries, provisions, amortizations, and depreciations, ensuring accurate mapping to relevant accounts.
- Validate, secure approvals for Journal Entries in a timely manner, following established thresholds and internal controls.
- Prepare financial reports and respond to inquiries during internal and external reviews, providing clear and timely documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a plus
- Minimum of two years experience in Accounts Payable, invoicing, journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Proficient in using accounting systems; familiarity with NetSuite and Sertica Invoicing is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage and interpret large volumes of financial data accurately and efficiently.
- Organizes financial data into usable formats and ensures records are consistently accurate and up to date.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of Statement of Account (SOA) reconciliations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including the use of advanced formulas and data analysis tools.
- Adaptable and able to manage change effectively in a dynamic work environment.
- Diligent and detail-oriented, with a strong focus on accuracy and data integrity.
