About the Job

The HVAC Manager ensures the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC and refrigeration systems across vessels, transport units, facilities, and heavy equipment. Responsibilities include leading technicians, managing budgets, optimizing performance, minimizing downtime, implementing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Climate Control Management

Ensure optimal air quality and temperature in accommodation and crane cabins.

  • Oversee HVAC system performance, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Implement preventive measures to ensure system efficiency and minimize downtime.

Temperature Control Monitoring

Ensure precise temperature regulation in reefer vans and container yards to protect perishable goods.

  • Monitor refrigeration systems to ensure they operate within PSACCs cold chain standards.
  • Perform regular inspections and troubleshooting to prevent temperature deviations and ensure compliance with PSACCs operational requirements.

Operator Comfort Management

Ensure HVAC systems in heavy equipment provide optimal climate control for operator comfort and safety.

  • Monitor and maintain HVAC systems in PSACC's fleet of heavy equipment to ensure reliable performance and minimize downtime.
  • Conduct regular inspections and troubleshooting of HVAC systems to maintain efficiency and comply with PSACCs operational standards.

Operational Efficiency Management

Streamline HVAC system performance to ensure reliable, cost-effective operation, minimizing energy consumption and reducing downtime for maximum productivity.

  • Minimize energy consumption by optimizing HVAC system settings and implementing energy-saving strategies.
  • Reduce downtime through proactive maintenance and quick troubleshooting to maximize productivity and system reliability.

System Inspections and Maintenance Management

Regularly inspect and maintain refrigeration systems to prevent system failure and product spoilage.

  • Identify and resolve potential issues proactively to prevent system failures and product spoilage.
  • Ensure all refrigeration systems meet PSACCs quality and safety standards through consistent monitoring and maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of hands-on experience in HVAC system maintenance, repair, and operations.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory or managerial experience, leading teams of technicians or professionals in HVAC or facilities management.
  • National Certificate (NC II) in HVAC/DomRAC
  • Deep knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to lead, supervise, and train a team of technicians effectively.
  • Expertise in managing HVAC projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Ability to develop and implement proactive maintenance strategies to ensure system reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members, vendors, and management.
  • A proactive mindset for identifying issues and coming up with creative, efficient solutions in high-pressure situations.
  • Flexibility in adjusting to new challenges, technologies, and changing work environments.
  • The ability to manage and resolve conflicts within the team or with vendors, ensuring a productive and harmonious work environment.
