Pay Range: Senior $110k-140k/yr.; Principal $138k-185k/yr.
Summary
Provost & Pritchard is offering an opportunity for senior and principal level civil engineers to work with community services and public utility districts that operate municipal water and sewer systems.
The ideal candidate will have experience serving as a district engineer as a consultant working for a special water district or as an employee of the services district or a city. Candidates should have a diversity of experience working on water, sewer, and stormwater infrastructure projects and the general requirements of municipal services districts. Candidates must have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to build relationships and work closely with clients, and work in multidisciplinary project design teams. The candidate will have experience working on feasibility studies, design, and construction projects with the ability to solve problems independently and in a team environment. Bilingual in Spanish is not required but is a plus.
Duties
- Serve as the primary contact with services district staff and attend in-person public board meetings on a routine basis.
- Lead the planning, design, and construction of water and sewer infrastructure projects, including pipelines, treatment facilities, and storage systems. Preparation of Preliminary Engineering Reports. Preparation of construction documents.
- Ensure that all engineering activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Develop or update improvement standards and drawings.
- Review applications for development, prepare conditions of approval and review developer improvement plans.
- Develop and manage budgets for capital improvement projects, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality or safety.
- Prepare or oversee preparation of financial assistance applications and feasibility studies.
- Serve as lead or provide support in administration of construction contracts, including the public bidding and construction process.
- Supervise a team of engineers and technicians, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure high performance and professional development.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation related to engineering projects, regulatory compliance, and operational performance.
- Teach and mentor assistant and associate level engineering staff.
Qualifications
- Civil/Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
- California Professional Engineer license (Civil)
- 10+ years of experience in consulting engineering leading and directing work teams in studies, investigations, and designs delivering positive results for clients.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing projects.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a primary client contact.
- Experience in planning, design and construction of water, sewer and storm drain infrastructure
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
