Director of Structured Debt Finance, Investment Company

An investment company based in Astana, Kazakhstan, specializing in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and structured debt financing for large-scale projects across the CIS and Middle East. Our clients span a variety of industries including infrastructure, real estate, TMT, Financial Institutions, and Metals & Mining.

Summary:

As the Structured Debt Financing Director, you will lead the structuring and execution of complex debt financing transactions, focusing on international deals, particularly syndicated loans. You will be responsible for executing transactions, managing financing processes, and collaborating with international banks and financial institutions. This role requires significant expertise in managing large-scale, multi-jurisdictional transactions. Additionally, you will provide key advisory services across sectors such as TMT, infrastructure, real estate, financial institutions, and metals & mining (M&M).

Responsibilities:

• Lead the structuring and execution of complex debt financing transactions, including syndicated loans and capital raising across the CIS and Middle East.
• Manage the entire lifecycle of syndicated loan deals, coordinating with international lenders, borrowers, and legal teams.
• Oversee cross-border financing projects in the CIS, Middle East, and other emerging markets, ensuring compliance with international standards.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, banks, and financial institutions.
• Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with high-value, complex transactions.
• Guide and mentor junior team members to ensure smooth execution and successful deal management.
• Provide financial advisory services across sectors such as infrastructure, energy, real estate, TMT, and Metals & Mining (M&M).
• Reporting to Partners

Requirements:

• Advanced degree in Finance, Economics, or related fields, with CFA, MBA, or equivalent qualifications preferred.
• 7-10+ years of experience in structured financing and syndicated loans, preferably in major international or Russian banks.
• Expertise in financing transactions across industries like infrastructure, energy, real estate, TMT, and M&M.
• Strong experience handling cross-border deals in the CIS, Middle East, and other emerging markets.
• Established relationships with international and regional banks, with a proven track record in syndicated credit.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and negotiation skills, with expertise in financial structuring and risk management.
• Fluency in Russian and English is essential; additional language skills are an advantage.
