Job Summary

The Materials Management Associate – Linen Room is responsible for the daily operations related to the receipt, storage, inventory management, distribution, and replenishment of linen supplies throughout the hospital. This role ensures that patient care units, procedural areas, and support departments have adequate linen supplies available to support safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. The Materials Management Associate maintains inventory accuracy, follows infection prevention standards, and supports the overall goals of the Materials Management department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, count, and organize clean linen deliveries from internal or external laundry services.
  • Monitor linen inventory levels and maintain adequate stock to meet departmental needs.
  • Rotate stock using established inventory control practices.
  • Conduct routine inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Report shortages, damaged items, or quality concerns to management.
  • Deliver and replenish linen supplies to patient care units, clinics, operating rooms, emergency departments, and other hospital areas.
  • Stock linen carts, shelves, and designated storage areas according to established par levels.
  • Respond promptly to urgent linen requests from hospital departments.
  • Maintain accurate records of linen distribution and inventory usage.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe linen room environment.

  • Properly store linen supplies in accordance with hospital policies and infection prevention standards.
  • Remove damaged, worn, or contaminated linen from circulation.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in materials management, supply chain, warehouse operations, linen services, or healthcare support services preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting.
  • Ability to push and pull loaded linen carts throughout the facility.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in storage areas, loading docks, and hospital environments.
