Overview

Our client, a nationally recognized Indigenous organization and one of Canadas Top 100 Employers, is seeking a Manager of Information Technology to lead and evolve its enterprise IT environment. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role suited for an experienced IT professional who thrives at the intersection of strategy, infrastructure, and cybersecurity.

Reporting to senior leadership, the Manager of Information Technology will own the organizations IT roadmap and act as the primary steward of its digital ecosystem. This role combines technical depth with people leadership, requiring direct involvement in system design, configuration, security, and continuous improvement, while mentoring a small, dedicated IT team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic planning, design, and execution of the organizations IT roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives
  • Serve as the primary authority for IT security, including policy development, threat monitoring, and incident response
  • Oversee and actively administer a Microsoft 365 enterprise environment (Azure AD/Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Security & Compliance)
  • Manage infrastructure operations including networking, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), backups, and disaster recovery
  • Lead and mentor a small IT team, establishing service standards and delivering a high-quality end-user experience
  • Drive major IT initiatives from concept through implementation, collaborating closely with senior leaders and stakeholders
  • Evaluate, recommend, and introduce new technologies that enhance efficiency, scalability, and resilience

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in IT operations
  • 2–3 years of experience in a supervisory or team leadership capacity
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience managing enterprise Microsoft environments
  • Proven expertise in cybersecurity practices, security frameworks, and incident response
  • Strong background in infrastructure, networking, virtualization, and IT project delivery
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CITM, or I.S.P. are considered strong assets
